Curtis Stigers Under the Stars

Additional Details

The singer, songwriter, saxophonist, and guitarist Curtis Stigers burst onto the recording scene in 1991 with his eponymously-titled debut album, which sold 1.5 million copies and spawned several self-penned hit singles, including the worldwide top-ten hit, “I Wonder Why.” The next year he recorded Nick Lowe’s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace Love and Understanding” for The Bodyguard soundtrack, which has sold over 45 million copies. Stigers has written songs with Carole King and Barry Mann, duetted with Al Green, Shawn Colvin, and Tom Jones, and toured with Elton John, Prince, Bonnie Raitt, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, to name a few. From 2001 to 2022 Stigers recorded eleven critically acclaimed albums for Concord Jazz and Universal Jazz. During this period Stigers also co-wrote and sang “This Life”, the Emmy Award-nominated theme song to the TV show “Sons of Anarchy”, and appeared in the Seth MacFarlane movies “Ted” and “Ted 2”. Stigers has cultivated a successful and enduring touring career, playing sold out concerts around the world. The new Curtis Stigers album “Songs From My Kitchen, Volume 1” (recorded locally with some of Boise’s finest musicians and released March 2025), is an intimate, emotional collection of acoustic originals and covers, inspired by his pandemic-era online livestream show.

Born in Hollywood, raised in Idaho, and transplanted to Manhattan for sixteen years, Curtis Stigers now resides, between concert tours, with his wife Jodi and their four very cute dogs, back here in Boise, where he’s proud to support Interfaith Sanctuary Homeless Shelter.
